Maria Rosario Salazar Hernandez born June 12, 1944 was called home on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at the age of 74. Maria resided in Deweyville with her husband, Henry C. Hernandez. She raised her family in Brigham City, she started a business in Brigham and attended church there as well.\nMaria married the love of her life, Enrique 'Henry' Chavez Hernandez, on December 27, 1964 in San Antonio, Texas. They briefly lived in Mesa, Arizona before making Brigham City, Utah their home.\nMaria earned her cosmetology certificate from Hollywood School of Beauty, then went on to earn her Utah state license and started as a stylist at the Castle of Beauty in downtown Brigham. Three years later, Maria started her own salon, 'Maria's Magic Mirror,' where she continued until her retirement in 1996.\nOur beloved wife and mother will be remembered by her husband of 53 years, Henry, and her children, Celsie (Rob Day), Marie (Shawn Blauer), Yvette (Randy Lunday) and Enrique 'Rick' Jr. Maria will also be remembered by her ten grandchildren, Brock (Miranda), Alexis, Zion, Derek, Sadie, Kallie, Kaden, Kaileigh, Markaell and Chloe. Maria excitedly anticipated the birth of her first great grandchild in May 2019. Maria is survived by her sister Martha Perea (David) and brother, Hiram Leza, Sr. Maria was predeceased by her parents Teodoro and Alicia Salazar and sister-in-law, Elva Leza.\n Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 10:00-10:40 a.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel 624 E. 200 S., Brigham City, UT 84302. A celebration of Maria's life will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018, from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. with the interment immediately following in the Brigham City cemetery.
