Brigham City - Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Rulon Nelson, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2018, at McKay Dee Hospital, with his sweet eternal companion at his side.\nRulon was born October 9, 1935 in Mantua Utah to Ruby Jones Riggs and Ellis Kenneth Nelson. He learned his ethic of hard work from his Daddy on their farm in Mantua.\n Rulon met his sweetheart, Nedra Nelson. They were married on September 28, 1956, in the Logan Temple. Together they had six children: Ken, Tamara, Kevin, Tori, Robert & Teri.\nRulon loved 4-wheeling, fishing, hunting, camping with the family and cooking fried potatoes with the grandchildren. Rulon lived a life of service be it building, snow plowing and his service to the Lord. He was always willing to help everyone around him. His family was his love and priority. He enjoyed every minute he got to spend with the family, especially with the grandchildren and great grandchildren.\nRulon was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Deloy Nelson; sister-in-law, Kayla Nelson; 3 grandchildren, Shawn Nelson, Dylan Anderson & Alexis Nelson.\nHe is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, 6 children, Ken (Jodie) Nelson, Tamara (Don) Fenton, Kevin (Sandra) Nelson, Tori (Paul) Tittensor, Robert (Shari) Nelson, Teri (Broderic) Braegger; 24 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 3 siblings, Loretta (Ralph) Wyatt, Grant Nelson, Grace (LeWayne) Walker; sister-in-law, LaRaine Nelson.\nA funeral service will be held on Saturday June 30, 2018 at the Brigham City North Stake Center, 620 North 300 East, at 1:30pm.\nViewings will be held on Friday, June 29, at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City from 6-8pm and again on Saturday at the church from 12:30-1:15pm prior to the service.\nThe family wishes to thank the Doctors, Vincent Hansen, and assistants, Susan and Angie, & Yonathan Melman, and the staff at McKay-Dee Hospital for the care they gave Rulon.
